Big Ditch Brewery, which recently announced it would be opening a new tap room in downtown Lockport, posted an explanation to their blog on Friday explaining their thought process.
According to the post, there were multiple reasons behind choosing Lockport for its new expansion, including:
- Proximity to the original “Big Ditch,” the Erie Canal itself
- Being within walking distance of the Palace Theatre and Cornerstone Arena
- Amount of car and foot traffic going by the 1 East Avenue location
- Ability to have live music in the summer
- Available parking
The post goes on to explain that the Lockport location will feature many of the same menu items from their current Buffalo location — including their All WNY Award winning WNY’s Best Reuben (2017 Awards) — as well as offer new small batch beers and food that currently are not available at their original brewery and tap room.
