LOCKPORT — Lake Effect Artisan Ice Cream — winners of the All WNY Award for Best Ice Cream Shop — have announced that their flagship Canal Street store will remain open for the winter.
Owners Jason Wulf and Erik Bernardi announced on the store’s Facebook page that instead of closing for the winter, the shop would remain open to sell “awesome new hot chocolates and some winter sundaes” as well as their “famous ice cream cakes all season so those of you with birthdays in the off season” aren’t left out and a whole new selection of winter ice cream flavors.
“The Lake Effect Ice Cream shop in Lockport is going to stay open much longer. We’re going to do some amazing things this winter, so be ready,” the post said. “Our name is Lake Effect, after all.”
Winter hours have not been announced, but the store is currently open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
