CANTON — A pair of Western New York students have been selected for membership in the St. Lawrence University chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history honorary society.
- Emma B. McEvoy of Buffalo is a member of the Class of 2017 and is majoring in Government and History.
- Margaret E. McKay of Rochester is a member of the Class of 2017 and is majoring in Francophone Studies and History. McKay attended Irondequoit High School.
In order to be eligible for membership in the Pi Eta Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, a student must have taken at least four courses in history and obtained an grade-point average (GPA) of 3.1. The student also must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. It is not necessary to be a history major or minor to join Phi Alpha Theta.
