Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another EP review! This time I have a brand new band called Doomswitch! They are dropping their debut EP Periapsis on August 6th, 2026.

This four piece group is currently instrumental for now, they are looking forward a vocalist to “complete the project” as they have stated in a FAQ post. Doomswitch is a fairly progressive project with heavy influence in metalcore and djent. They manage to weave in melodic riffs, groovy djent inspired and some really nice breakdowns to top is all off.

My favorite track is Anathema by far. To me, this track has my favorite main riff and heaviest breakdown on the whole EP. The guitar solo is also very nice!

I really enjoyed Periapsis as a debut and can’t wait to hear what Doomswitch has for us in the future. On my personal rating scale I would give this a 8/10! As always, go check out this music! Links to their streaming and socials are below!
