BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo State dominated the overtime session and finally broke through in the game’s 98th minute on Pa Lu‘s (Buffalo/International Prep) first goal as a Bengal to defeat visiting Potsdam 1-0 in today’s SUNYAC regular-season finale at Coyer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Much of the scoreless opening half that included a 43-minute weather delay was contested at midfield with the Bengals closing the frame in with a 7-2 edge in shot attempts.
- Buffalo State began to take control in the second half and the Bengals created a number of quality chances, but still could not break through despite 11 shot attempts.
- The Bengals appeared determined to end the game in the first extra session, peppering the opposing goal, but four diving saves and a Robert Williamson (Fishkill/John Jay) header that hit the right post kept the game scoreless.
- The eighth shot attempt of the overtime finally went to the back of the net as Lu volleyed a long pass from Colin O’Keefe (Buffalo/Canisius) over the Potsdam keeper.
- Buffalo State ended the game with a 26-7 advantage in shot attempts, including a 17-4 edge in shots on goal.
- Dylan Guarino (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) made four saves for his third shutout in as many starts.

- Jakeb Mitchell was outstanding in goal for the Bears, making 15 saves.
NOTEWORTHY
- Buffalo State reached the 10-win plateau for the fourth-consecutive season, the longest such streak in the history of the program.
UP NEXT
Buffalo State will host Alfred University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. to wrap up the regular season. The Bengals will then open the SUNYAC playoffs in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Oct. 27 as the No. 5 seed, travelling to No. 4 Oneonta.
