Two Buffalo teens were charged following an investigation into possession of prison contraband at the Erie County Holding Center (ECHC).

According to ECSO, 19–year-old incarcerated individual Jameer Woods of Buffalo stands accused of accepting a yellow plastic bag containing suspected contraband from 19-year-old, Dalas Calhoun of Tonawanda on Tuesday.

As the transporting deputy reached down to pick up the suspected contraband, I/I Woods aggressively reached down and grabbed the item. A struggle ensued. During the struggle, I/I Woods was able to secrete the contraband into his person. Following a scan and search of his person, I/I Woods turned over the contraband, suspected K2 Spice.

A review of the surveillance footage of the contact visit area revealed conclusive evidence of Calhoun passing the contraband to 1/1 Woods during the visit. Calhoun was subsequently taken into custody today.

Woods was charged with:

  • Possession of Dangerous Contraband in Prison 1st Degree – Class D Felony;
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence – Class E Felony;
  • Obstruction of Governmental Administration – A Misdemeanor.

Calhoun was charged with

  • Introduction of Dangerous Contraband into Prison 1st Degree – Class D Felony.

Woods remained in custody pending his arraignment in Buffalo City Court and is currently awaiting
trial on two separate counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Calhoun was remanded to the ECHC pending arraignment in Buffalo City Court.
