Janice G. Biggins, 72, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 27, 2023 at Schoellkopf Nursing Home in Niagara Falls, NY. Born in Ashtown, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late L.C. Abney and the late Robbie (Phillips) Abney.
Janice attended schools in Ashtown, Arkansas, before moving to Fillmore, California as a child with her family, where she graduated high school in 1969. She moved to Niagara Falls in the early 1970’s and married Dennis E. Biggins on December 1, 1973, at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Janice was employed for many years at St. Peters School in Lewiston, NY, as a teacher’s aide. She loved to read, bake, and cook, and especially enjoyed hosting holidays for her family. She was involved with the Sacred Heart School Mother’s Club. Spending time with her family and helping care for the children at St. Peters were the most important things in her life.
In addition to her husband, Janice is survived by her children Dennis (Cheyenne) Biggins, Ian (London) Biggins, and Joseph Biggins; a brother, Steve (Toyoko) Abney; her grandchildren, Anias, Averiana and Fiona. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by siblings Donna Abney and Dale Abney.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 3 from 3 – 6 PM at M.J COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304 where funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4, at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
