GREENVILLE, PA –Chloe Adams (Watertown, NY/Watertown) and Elle Bush (Middleboro, MA/Middleboro) each scored two goals as the Buffalo State women’s soccer team earned its second consecutive 8-0 victory in a thrashing of Thiel on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE

  • Bush led the Bengals with five shots on goal in the contest, while Adams scored on both of her shot attempts.
  • Kaylee Valentic (N. Tonawanda, NY/N. Tonawanda) had a goal and two assists for the Bengals.
  • Hannah Esslie (Cairo, NY/Cairo-Durham) netted her third goal of the season, and chipped in an assist.
  • Eve DiCarlo (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) and Emma Hesseltine (Malone, NY/Franklin Academy) also netted for Buffalo State.
  • Sam Kaufman (Cheektowaga, NY/West Seneca East) supervised a clean sheet for Buffalo State, making three saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • For the second game in a row, DiCarlo opened the scoring for the Bengals off of an assist from Valentic, as the Bengals led less than 10 minutes in.
  • Bush doubled the Buffalo State advantage just over two minutes later, then scored her second goal of the game in the 20th minute, assisted by Valentic.
  • The Bengals held the 3-0 advantage into halftime, holding Thiel to just two shots in the half.
  • Goals by Valentic and Esslie in the opening five minutes of the second half gave the Bengals a 5-0 lead.
  • Adams scored her second goal of the season in the 71st minute, then added another goal in the 84th minute.
  • Hesseltine completed the scoring with only seven seconds remaining in the game, the first goal of her career.

  • Samantha Hoffman made 11 saves in goal for Thiel.
