ROCHESTER The Buffalo State women’s volleyball team wrapped up a 2-1 weekend at the Rochester Tournament with a four-set victory over Keuka on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith) recorded a career-high 19 kills to lead the Bengals.
- Nicole Delli Colli (Rye, NY/Rye) and Eden Harrison (Eldersburg, MD/Century) each had 10 kills for Buffalo State, with Harrison registering a .450 hitting percentage.
- Karlie Shaffer (Smithtown, NY/Smithtown East) handed out 30 assists in the match.
- Jenna Hugenschmidt (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) led Buffalo State with 13 digs, while Wittman and Adi Vergara (Rio Grande, Puerto Rico/Kingdom Christian) had 12 digs and 10 digs, respectively.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bengals jumped out to a 12-5 lead in the opening set, before Keuka responded with a 7-1 run to pull within one point. The Bengals were able to maintain the lead for the remainder of the set, and Wittman finished a 25-22 victory with a kill.
- Trailing 20-15 in the second set, Buffalo State went on an 8-3 run to tie the score at 23-23. After a Wolves’ kill, and ensuing service error, Harrison aced Keuka and Delli Colli gave Buffalo State a two-set advantage with a kill.
- With Keuka leading 24-21 in the third set, Delli Colli had a kill and Hugenschmidt recorded an ace to bring the Bengals within one, before Keuka was able to force a fourth set.
- The Bengals held a lead as large as 17-9 in the fourth set, and were able to withstand a Wolves’ run to earn a convincing 25-19 victory to claim the match.
FOR THE FOES
- Nina Scott had 13 kills to lead the Wolves, while Dayna Edholm chipped in 12 kills.
- Emma Sipos recorded a match-high 22 digs.
