SYRACUSE, NY –Alexa Groh (Elma, NY/Niagara Jr. Purple Eagles) of the Buffalo State women’s hockey team has been named the NEWHL Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning. 

Groh had a strong showing this weekend, recording two goal and two assists, and a plus four (+4) on-ice rating as Buffalo State earned a sweep over Hilbert in non-conference action.

The freshman forward scored a goal and added two assists on Saturday afternoon, as the Bengals defeated the Hawks by a final score of 10-0. She also registered a goal in the 7-0 victory on Friday evening.

Rylee Garrow (Akwesasne, NY/St. Lawrence Steel) of the Buffalo State women’s hockey team has been named the NEWHL Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday morning. This is Garrow’s first selection as Player of the Week in her career. 

The sophomore forward was an assisting virtuoso this weekend, recording five assists, including three primary assists as the Bengals swept Hilbert.

Garrow recorded three primary assists on Friday afternoon and a plus two (+2) rating as the Bengals earned a 7-0 victory. She followed her performance up by recording two more assists in a 10-0 victory on Saturday, while also winning four of five faceoff attempts.
