The Canisius men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were recognized for their efforts in the classroom Tuesday as both were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the Fall semester.
Selected on the basis of Fall 2022 grade point averages, the Golden Griffins’ men’s team garnered a 3.34 GPA while the women’s squad obtained a 3.43 GPA for the fall semester.
Canisius was one of eight schools in the MAAC to earn the honor on the men’s side and one of nine schools to be recognized on the women’s side.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation’s first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development.
