This week’s featured event is The Last Reign Returns. Buffalo’s Melodic Death Metal band The Last Reign has been quiet for some time now (almost exactly a year). With losing most of the line up, the future looked as bleak as South Buffalo’s abandoned factories after their show last June. But one thing our city has been doing right, is finding a way to create beautiful art and community in places that may have seemed lost. Founding member & guitarist Brian Platter has reinvigorated The Last Reign into Buffalo’s new super-group. Brian is known in his own right for his work in Pollock, Herod, One Hot Minute, Tusk and Timbre, Not by Design, From Beyond and Keyboard Jack and the Flashbacks. Seth Welty now hits the bass, known for his work in Elastic Endeavor, Truth Behind the Lies (TBTL), Jason Russo studio project, the Jane Evil band, and Final Decline. Colin Marmion has been brought in on the kit, known for his work in Eyes Of The Blind & Pollock. Vince Mayer is on guitar, but has played a variety of other instruments as well in bands such as One’s Own Blood, It’s A Trap, & Dying Breed. And… who knows? The fifth and last member has not yet been announced at the time of me writing this article. But something tells me, this surprise is going to be worth it. Come welcome back this Buffalo staple, in a brand new incarnation, this Saturday June 8th at Mohawk Place! Chelseigh, Duskwalker, & Fatal Curse will start off the night. Doors at 7, show starts at 8, and it’s only $10 at the door to get in!
