Game Recap

  • The Cyclones went on a 10-0 run to open the game before Dagny Davidsdottir scored NU’s first points to leave the Purple Eagles trailing by eight, 10-2. Iowa State answered with another run, 12-0, to take a 22-2 lead over Niagara.
  • Jai Moore scored two more points for Niagara in the first quarter, but the Cyclones dominated the quarter, going into the second quarter leading 27-4.
  • Maggie McIntyre opened scoring for the Purple Eagles in the second quarter, sinking a 3-pointer. Kharysma BryantEmerald Ekpiteta and Jordan Edwards all added points for Niagara in the second quarter, but the Cyclones led 49-12 at the end of the first half.
  • Moore began heating up in the third quarter, scoring eight points, including two treys. Iowa State, however, remained in the lead and went into the fourth quarter leading the Purple Eagles, 70-24.
  • McIntyre sank two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, but Iowa State continued to dominate, defeating the Purple Eagles, 95-35.

  • Moore led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 12 points. McIntyre added 11 points.
  • Ekpiteta led the team in rebounding with a career-high 12 rebounds.
  • Maddy Yelle and Ekpiteta led the team in steals with two each.
