NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara Purple Eagles continue their stretch run with a home contest against the Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Saturday, October 13 at 12 p.m.
 
Scene Setter

  • The Purple Eagles are coming off another intense Battle of the Bridge contest with Canisius on October 10. Niagara led 2-0 before Canisius scored two goals in a two-minute span (74th and 76thminutes).  
  • Niagara sits in fourth place with 11 points with three games left in the regular season. NU is one point behind Marist and one point ahead of Rider.
  • After winning four straight from September 6-22, the Purple Eagles are 1-2-2 in their last five games.

 
Kickoff Tidbits

  • Freshman Annie Ibey, a three-time MAAC Rookie of the Week recipient, leads the Purple Eagles in goals (6) and points (15), and tied in assists (3). Ibey is second in the league in goals and points.
  • Ibey’s four game-winning goals lead the MAAC and are 15th in the nation.
  • Kelsey Araujo and Hailey Bicknell each set new season-bests in their last game. Araujo had her third assist and Bicknell scored her fourth goal of the season against Canisius.
  • The Purple Eagles lead the MAAC in shots per game and is second in shutout percentage.

Saint Peter’s Peacocks (2-10-0, 2-4-0 MAAC)

  • Saint Peter’s has dropped its last two games heading into Saturday’s contests. The Peacocks have two wins on the season coming versus Canisius and second-placed Quinnipiac.
  • Brooke Boutchhie and Alexandria Couto both share team-high honors in goals (2) and points (4).
  • The Purple Eagles led the series 19-6 and have dominated the series recently. Niagara is 18-1-0 in the last 19 meetings, including winning the last eight meetings and have won nine straight at home. NU has outscored Saint Peter’s 28-5 in the last eight games.
