BUFFALO, N.Y. — Robert Liebel (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) led six Buffalo State athletes named to the All-SUNYAC Outdoor Track & Field teams, earning first team honors and Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet after this past weekend’s conference championship meet.

Liebel earned first team honors as a double winner, claiming the 200-meter dash (21.61) and running a leg of the winning 4×400-meter relay.  He piled up 22.5 total points, also placing second in the 100-meter dash and runner-up with the 4×100-meter relay.

Cody Sikora (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) was also first team All-SUNYAC, winning the 400-meter dash (48.00) and also ran leg of the winning 4×400-meter relay.

Parris Strickland (Rochester/Brighton) and Benjamin Fairweather (Brooklyn/Kurt Hahn Expeditionary) were also first team All-SUNYAC with the winning 4×400-meter relay (3:19.70).  Fairweather added a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash, while Strickland was a piece of the second-place 4×100-meter relay.

Eric Vassell (Bronx/Mt. St. Michael) grabbed second team all-conference honors as runner-up in the 200-meter dash (21.87) and also placed second with the 4×100-meter relay.

Elijah Lawal (Duanesburg/Duanesburg) also earned All-SUNYAC honors with second team distinction with the runner-up 4×100-meter relay.

The top-three finishers in each event at the championship meet are considered all-conference at the level of their highest finish.

Buffalo State finished fourth of nine teams.
