NIAGARA UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — After three events were cancelled due to inclement weather, the Niagara University track and field team will have their first competition of the season at the Alfred Invite, hosted by Alfred State, on Monday.
Senior-Laden Team
- Niagara has an experienced team featuring # seniors – Alyssandra Orfano (distance), Erin Clark (throws), Maggie Doyle (sprints), Sarah Grubbs (mid-distance), Casey Leader (hurdles), Lilly Lupinetti (sprints), Jenna Minges (hurdles), Emilee Welton (distance), and Rachel Wisely (sprints).
Field Commanders
- Two of Niagara’s most standout performers last season were Morgan Palmer and Maggie Gerard.
- The pair routinely set PR and school records in the shot put and in discuss.
- Palmer finished in first in the discus twice (Wolfie, SUNY Geneseo). Gerard finish first in the shot put at the Wolfie Invitational.
