NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara University men’s tennis ended its season with a sweep of the Rider Broncs, 7-0, on Sunday.
 
Match Summary

  • The Purple Eagles won the doubles point with wins in No. 1 and 2 doubles; Rider defaulted at three doubles.
  • Brent Boleslav and Jason Wisely defeated Javier Melendez and Diego Delgado, 6-4, in two doubles.
  • NU’s No. 1 tandem of Taylan Ozdemir and Josh Wilson squeaked out a 7-6(7) win.
  • Ozdemir eased to a straight set win in No. 1 singles.
  • Boleslav followed with a 7-5, 6-0 win in three singles.
  • Wilson pushed through with a 6-4, 6-3 win in two singles.
  • Wisely topped Brian Villareal, 6-1, 6-3, in No. 5 singles.
  • Shyam Srinivasan defeated Griffin Clark, 7-5, 6-3 in four singles.

  • Prior to the match, Niagara honored its lone senior on the squad, Jason Wisely.

  • Niagara finished the season winning two straight matches.
  • Taylan Ozdemir wrapped up the season with a team-best 17 singles wins, including three in league play in No. 1 singles.
  • Josh Wilson, who won his third straight match, improved to 4-2 in MAAC matches playing in the two slot.
