NIAGARA FALLS — The Niagara softball team continues MAAC play this weekend, playing a doubleheader at Marist at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 and a doubleheader at Quinnipiac at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8.

Last Time Out
  • The Purple Eagles opened conference play against the Siena Saints on March 31. The teams split a doubleheader; Niagara took the first game, 6-1, and fell to Siena in the second game, 3-0.

On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles (8-19, 1-1 MAAC)

  • Kelsey Harrigan leads the Purple Eagles with 22 hits. Margaret Vesneske, Jennifer Timm and Jerri Ann Orfano each have 21 hits.
  • Orfano has a team-high 22 RBIs and five homeruns, which is the third-most in the MAAC.
  • Kendall Watkins leads the team in runs scored with 20. She is tied for third-most runs scored in the MAAC.
  • In the circle, Sierra Bertrand (4-6) leads the Purple Eagle pitching staff with 37 strikeouts in 57.1 innings pitched. She has an ERA of 3.66.
  • Karsen Cotton (3-7) has fanned 27 batters in 55.2 innings pitched and has an ERA of 4.15.

On the Field: Marist Red Foxes (13-19, 0-0 MAAC)
  • Caroline Baratta leads the Red Foxes with 40 hits on the season so far and 21 runs scored. Baratta leads the MAAC in hits and is second in runs scored.
  • Ali Milam has a team-high 24 RBIs, which is the most in the conference.
  • Kallen Leeseberg (3-7) has struck out the most batters (52).
  • Megan Beiermeister (6-5) has pitched the most innings for the Red Foxes with 64.2. She has fanned 46 batters and has an ERA of 2.92.

On the Field: Quinnipiac Bobcats (12-17, 1-1 MAAC)
  • Erin Larsen leads the Bobcats with 29 hits, 17 runs scored, six homeruns and 22 RBIs. She is fourth in the MAAC in hits, is tied for most homeruns and is tied for second in RBIs.
  • In the circle, Casey Herzog (10-7) has struck out 94 batters in 107.2 innings pitched. She leads the MAAC in wins, innings pitched and strikeouts. She has an ERA of 1.30.
