ON DECK
The Canisius softball team will travel to Syracuse, N.Y., on Wednesday, April 4, when the Golden Griffins play Syracuse in a non-conference doubleheader. Game one is set to start at noon.

NEWS AND NOTES
• Canisius has dropped ten straight games, including a one-run extra inning game at St. Bonaventure last Wednesday.
• Freshman Kara Paradowski leads the MAAC with her 13 stolen bases this season. Fellow freshman Erin Hufford ranks second on the team and fourth in the league with seven steals.
• As a team, the Griffs rank 62nd in the nation with 1.3 stolen bases per contest.
• Sophomore Morgan Altman ranks second in the MAAC with three triples this season.
• Senior pitcher Erika Mackie is among the league leaders in appearances (15) and innings pitched (66.2).
 
SCOUTING SYRACUSE
• Syracuse is 16-14 on the year.
• The Orange are led by junior Bryce Holmgren who leads the ACC with a .558 on-base percentage and is second on the team with a .430 batting average.
• As a team, Syracuse is hitting .257, the team has outscored opponents 135-97.
• Sophomore Alexa Romero leads the Orange pitching staff with her 10.5 strikeouts per game and her 169 strikeouts on the year.

SERIES HISTORY vs. SYRACUSE
• Wednesday’s twinbill will be the 23rd and 24th all-time meetings between Canisius and Syracuse on the softball diamond.
• The Orange lead the all-time series by a 16-6 count.
• Canisius and Syracuse played two times in the 2017 season, with the Orange scoring two wins.
