UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO — Head men’s tennis coach Lee Nickell has announced the addition of Nickolas Frisk to UB’s current roster.  The Santiago, Chile native is enrolled in classes and will begin competition when Buffalo starts its spring season.

Frisk is ranked 38th in the open division in Chile, while he holds a Top 20 ranking in juniors and he has had a career high ITF ranking of 1525.  Frisk has played in Futures Tournaments in a number of places, including Turkey, where he reached the third round of the qualifying draw at the Turkey F20 Futures, while also being placed in the round of 16 in the main draw of doubles.

“Nickolas is an amazing addition for our program,” said Nickell. “Not only does he fit our profile athletically, but the moment we met him we knew he was the exact character young man that would fit into our system. We are excited to get Nickolas on campus and have him be a fixture in our lineup.”

Frisk and the defending MAC Champion Bulls will begin the spring season on Wednesday, January 24 when UB battles Wichita State in Ithaca.
