ROCHESTER — Liberty League commissioner Tracy King has announced that 222 winter sport student-athletes have qualified for the league’s 2016-17 All-Academic Teams in their respective sports. A total of 32 RIT student-athletes earned All-Academic honors for the winter season, including:

  • Julia Bender of Webster, a member of the women’s basketball team.
  • Taylor Burns of Rochester, a member of the women’s basketball team.
  • Abigail Judd of Pittsford, a member of the women’s basketball team.
  • Whitney Kent of Hinsdale, a member of the women’s basketball team.
  • Rachel Kobel of Bergen, a member of the women’s swimming and diving team.

The winter championship sports include men’s and women’s basketball, men’s squash, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.
