The Niagara Purple Eagles will welcome the Wright State Raiders for a two mid-week matches. The women will play on Wednesday, March 1 at 11 am at the South Towns Tennis Center and the men will play on Thursday, March 2 at Noon at Village Glen.

The Purple Eagles women’s team is coming off a narrow defeat to Binghamton, 4-3, in their most recent match. A trio of Purple Eagles picked up wins in singles action – Sharlee Deshmukh, Ali Hutchinson and Sansriti Ranjan. Stella Peisakhova leads the team with six wins in singles.

The Wright State women’s team is 5-7 on the season and has faced No. 7 Ohio State, Notre Dame and Cincinnati this spring. Linsey Verstrepen leads the Raiders with a 13-10 record in singles. Their No. 1 doubles team of Taylor Culberston and Tori Turner is 13-8 in all competitions.

On the men’s side, Niagara is in search of its first win since defeating Oberlin College on Feb. 11. Four Purple Eagles have at least four singles wins, led by Taylan Ozdemir who is 8-7 in all competitions.

The Wright State men’s team enters its Western New York trip with a 1-8 record. Jacob Perkins leads the team with five singles wins.
