BUFFALO — After a historic weekend for the Bulls at the Mid-American Conference Championships that resulted in several medals and a few broken school records, both the men and women remain ranked second in the regional rankings with numerous athletes gaining recognition in individual rankings. The men are ranked directly below Syracuse University, and rank nearly ten points above Cornell. Every point counts for the women, and their performance at the MAC Championships help them rank three points about Columbia University.
Joshua Gali won two individual gold medals and was a member of the gold medal winning 4X400 relay team. His work on the track helped him earn Most Outstanding Track Athlete for the MAC, and moved him up in the regional and national rankings. Gali also currently ranks 41st in the nation and second in the region in the 200m. He also currently ranks 43rd in the nation and first in the region in the 400m after his winning performance at the championships. Joining him the regional rankings of the event is teammate Mitchell Moore, who ranks third.
Ryan Billian also had a stellar performance for the Bulls that resulted in three individual regional rankings. Billian ranks seventh in the 60m dash after placing fourth at the MAC Championships. His gold medal winning performance in the 60H ranks him third in the region and 37th in the nation. Billian also holds a regional and national ranking in the long jump. He ranks second in the region and 50th in the nation. Devon Patterson earned his first gold medal that led him to being both regionally and nationally ranked in the shot put. Patterson holds a 20th place national ranking and first place regional ranking. Teammate Ryan Cribbin ranks second regionally in the event. Michael Morgan had an outstanding performance in his first competition since the spring of 2015. Morgan took gold in the heptathlon, which landed him a second place regionally ranking.
The women had an outstanding performance at the MAC Championships that landed them ranked second in the Northeast Region. Three athletes were regionally ranked, two were regionally ranked in multiple events. Emma Siuciak ranks regionally and nationally in two events” pentathlon and high jump. Her performance at MACs in the pentathlon helped her earn a national ranking of 18th and a regional ranking of second. Siuciak also ranks second in the region and 30th in the region in the high jump. Martine Bye also earned regional recognition. Her performance at Championships ranks her sixth in the high jump and fourth in the pentathlon. Megan Patterson also ranks sixth in the shot put in the regionally rankings.
