JAMESTOWN — A 24-year-old Jamestown man was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop.

According to New York State Police, Troopers observed a vehicle in the intersection of East 2nd Street and Phillips Street disabled due to significant front end damage. Subsequent investigation revealed that Travon Mitchell exited the roadway while attempting to make a right hand turn and that he was intoxicated, leading to his arrest.

Mitchell was transported to SP Jamestown where he provided a breath sample of .16 percent blood alcohol content.  Mitchell was then processed, issued tickets returnable to the City of Jamestown Court and released. He is scheduled to appear in the City of Jamestown Court later in the month.
