CLARENCE — A 22-year-old Buffalo man and a 29-year-old Clarence man were each charged Saturday with criminal possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
According to Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard, a deputy stopped a vehicle on Main Street for vehicle and traffic violations and found that the operator’s license was suspended. The deputy took 22-year-old Daniel Lang into custody then saw a bag of white powder on the floor of the vehicle, which field tested positive for cocaine. At that time, the passenger, 29-year-old Michael Sweeny was taken into custody.
In addition to the drug charge, Lang was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
The pair were taken to the Erie County Holding Center and later released after posting bail.
