AKRON, Ohio – After day two of the Zippy Invitational, the men remain in third place, while the women drop from second to third. The men sit behind Cornell and Oakland; the women behind Akron and Oakland.

The Bulls had an impressive showing in the pool and well, breaking meet and pool records. Megan Burns took first place in the 200 Free with a time of 1:47.21, a meet record. The 800 Free Relay team of Sarah Baxter, Catherine Schultheis, Hannah Miller, and Megan Burns broke a meet record, clocking in at 7:21.04, a first place finish. The men’s 800 Free Relay team of Martine Legih, Reid Zyniecki, Eric Jensen, and Scott Huang broke the meet record with a time of 6:42.16, a second place finish. The breaking of meet records didn’t stop in the pool, Kristian Santos was able to break the meet record in the one-meter dive with a score of 326.60.

The men performed well in the pool and diving well. In addition to the records broken, they saw one first place finish, four second place finishes, and one third place finish. Mason Miller took first in the 100 Fly with a time of 47.96. Itai De La Vega, Eris Jensen, Charles Barry, and Troy Birdsall all placed second in their respective events. De La Vega clocked in at 53.90 in the 100 Breast, Jensen finished the 200 Free with a time of 1:38.96, Barry clocked in at 3:55.31 in the 400 IM, and Birdsall posted a score of 295.85 on the one-meter dive. The 200 Medley Relay team of Husdon Carroll, Itai De La Vega, Mason Miller, and Garrett Clarke placed third with a time of 1:28.84.

The women did well in both the pool and the diving well. Julia Box placed second in the 100 Fly with a time of 54.23, a new school record. Box also broke the school record in the 100 Back with a time of 54.31. Mackenzie Moss scored 280.25 on the three-meter dive; a third place finish. The 200 Medley Relay team of Box, Anna Vitolins, Sarah Baxter, and Megan Burns took third with a time of 1:41.97.

The last day of the Zippy Invitational starts Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
