Junior Dan Dirrigl won two events, with season best times in each, while fellow junior Rebecca Anthone won two individual events, including a team win in the 200 yard free relay, as the Canisius College swimming and diving program swept their Senior Day meet against Binghamton 161-139 on the women’s side, while winning 155-145 in men’s play.

Dirrigl recorded team season highs in the 100 fly (50.95) and the 200 fly (1:55.73), while several others recorded team season bests including seniors Wyatt Sintay in the 200 breast (2:16.14), Gustavo dos Santos in the 200 free (1:45.77) and junior Greg Staebell in the 200 back (1:55.89).

On the women’s side senior Hannah Graesser recorded a season best time in the 50 free (24.64), while junior Miranda Bigham (200 Fly, 2:18.10) and sophomore Vivian Mroz (3 meter dive, 265.50) also recorded team highs.

Anthone saw wins in the 200 and 500 free (1:57.33, 5:16.81), while other women’s winners included senior Marissa Watroba in the 100 and 200 breast (1:07.91, 2:30.02 ) sophomore Cassie Brousseau in the 100 and 200 back (1:00.58, 2:10.88), Graesser in the 50 free, while Mroz won both the one (234.00) and three meter diving events.

The men’s team saw individual wins from Staebell in the 100 (52.45) and 200 back, with junior Travis Wright winning both the one and three meter diving events (340.05, 341.25).

Aside from the individual victories, the Blue and Gold saw team victories from both teams in the 400 medley relay and the 200 free relay, with the men clinching their victory over the Bearcats in 200 free win.

Twelve senior Griffs were honored in a pregame ceremony including Michael Berg, Brent Carbone, Sarah Dimayo, dos Santos, Graesser, Karly Hartz, Colin MacDonald, Marc Ruszaj, Jacquie Sagasta, Watroba and Christian Westermeier, as they competed in their final regular season meet at the Burt Flickinger Center.

The Griffs will look to continue their strong play when they face Cleveland St. on Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. from Cleveland, Ohio.
