LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Niagara men’s cross country team competed at the 2016 MAAC Championships held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Saturday.

Senior Tyler van Leeuwen paced NU in the 8K event with a time of 27:10.00 for 78th place.
Van Leeuwen has led the Purple Eagles in every meet this season. A trio of freshmen followed: Ryan DeLola (27:32.13), Matt Whitworth (27.48.60) and Ethan Graves (27:51.58). Sophomore Sergio Cruz (27:59.32) and freshman Aidan Russell (29:05.37) rounded out the scoring
As a team, Niagara placed 10th out of 11 teams with a time of 27:40.33.

Niagara wraps up the season at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on Nov. 11.
