PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The University at Buffalo swimming and diving team had a pleasing performance in the pool and in the diving well. Mason Miller and Megan Burns had a profound performance in the pool placing first in more than one event.

In the diving well, the Bulls took second in the men’s and women’s one-meter and the men’s three-meter dives. Kristian Santos had the highest score for the men in the diving well; posting a 338.10 on the three-meter, and a 309.83 on the one-meter. Abbey Croce scored a 259.43 (second place) on the one-meter dive for the women.

Mason Miller placed first in two individual events and was a part of the two winning relay teams. The men’s team “A” consisting of Ryan Gordon, Garrett Clarke, Mason Miller, and Aaron Durrence, took home first in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:31.04. Miller also took first in the 50 Free and 100 Fly with times of 20.62 and 48.57, respectively. Miller was also the anchor in the men’s first place finish in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:02.31.

Megan Burns placed first in three different individual events: 200 Free (1:50.43), 50 Free (22.94), and 100 Free (50.30). She was also a part of the second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay, with the team clocking in at 1:45.10.

Coach Andy Bashor said, “I was pleased with the way we competed and the energy we had today.  We stepped it up and raced today.  Each week we have been getting better and it showed today in many of our races. We look forward to another good week of practices.”

The Bulls will have another week of practices before they hit the pool again on Friday in a home meet against Akron.
