NEW PALTZ — New Paltz scored in the 43rd minute and held on for a 1-0 victory over visiting Buffalo State in today’s SUNYAC regular season finale.

Buffalo State held a narrow 5-4 advantage in shots in the first half, but went into the locker room down 1-0 after a Bengal defender misplayed a ball back to the keeper that was intercepted and sent to the back of the net. The Hawks kept the Bengals at bay in the second half, surrendering just one shot over the final 45 minutes. New Paltz finished with a 9-6 edge in shots for the game.
Andreas Queen (Stone Ridge/Rondout Valley) finished with two saves in goal for Buffalo State.

Buffalo State and New Paltz will square off again next Saturday in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals. The Bengals will be the No. 4 seed and will host the No. 5 Hawks at Coyer Field at 3 p.m. on Oct. 29.
