BUFFALO — The Canisius College women’s soccer team will return home to play Monmouth on Saturday, Oct. 22. Game time is set for 1 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

Last time out, Canisius beat Saint Peter’s 1-0 Wednesday afternoon in Jersey City, N.J. The Blue and Gold’s goal was scored in overtime in the 96th minute by sophomore Melaine Linsmair as she put in the game-winning goal off a corner kick from fellow classmate Emily Czechowksi.

Canisius currently sits in fifth place in the MAAC standings and would be on the road in the conference tournament as the top six teams make it to the post-season with the number one and two seeds receiving byes in the opening round. With the Griffs victory over Saint Peter’s on Wednesday, Canisius now has seven wins on the season, which surpasses last year’s win total of six. The Griffs have not won eight games in a season since 2011, when they finished 8-7-4.
