NIAGARA UNIV. — The Niagara women’s soccer team heads to Iona for its final road game of the regular season. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.

The Purple Eagles defeated Fairfield, 1-0, on Saturday. Ortiz scored the goal for Niagara in the 69th minute. Bachmann passed her the ball and Ortiz split the defenders, scoring one on one with the keeper. Prior to the start of the game, the Purple Eagles honored their six graduating seniors: Amanda Gallo, Ortiz, Emily Phillips, Shawnique and Shangyne Samuels and Thorne.

The Purple Eagles and the Gaels last met on Sept. 26, 2015. Niagara defeated Iona, 4-3.
Haillie Price had two goals for the Purple Eagles, and Phillips and Hayley Besaw had one goal each.

The Purple Eagles close out the regular season on Wednesday when they host Marist at 3:00 p.m.
