POTSDAM — Catherine Mammoser (Eden/Eden) had a goal and an assist and No. 23 ranked Buffalo State scored three first-half goals and cruised to a ninth-consecutive victory today, defeating host Potsdam, 3-1.

Buffalo State wasted little time getting started as Mammoser opened the scoring with her fifth goal of the season and second in as many days just 2:06 into the contest. Tianna Hatch (Endicott/Elmira Free Acad.) extended the lead in the ninth minute with her fifth goal of the year off a cross from Melissa Smith (N. Tonawanda/Niagara Wheatfield). Victoria Colotti’s (New Windsor/Newburgh Free) second goal of the season in the 17th minute with an assist from Mammoser sent the Bengals off to the races. Potsdam did manage to score in the 83rd minute, finally ending freshman goalkeeper Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) and Buffalo State’s school-record streak of 871 minutes and 56 seconds without conceding a goal. Buffalo State outshot the Bears, 22-5, for the game, including 15-1 on goal.

Buffalo State will concluded the SUNYAC regular season next weekend at home, hosting Oneonta on Friday and New Paltz on Saturday.
