BUFFALO — Brandon Galanti (Hamburg/Frontier) scored in the 73rd minute to lift Buffalo State to a 1-0 victory over visiting Potsdam today at Coyer Field to sew up a SUNYAC playoff berth for the for the Bengals for the second-consecutive season.

Buffalo State possessed the ball for much of the opening half, but could not break through, despite maintaining a 5-1 advantage in shots. Potsdam opened the second half with some pressure, but the Bengals survived a brief flurry that included a header off the right post in the 54th minute. From there, the Bengals regained composure and finally broke through on Galanti’s third goal of the season.  Tristan Myers (Rochester/Webster Thomas) and Sammy Wasson (Clarence/Clarence) each drew assists on the goal.  Wasson sent Myers down the left wing with a through ball, and Myers one-touched it between two defenders to a streaking Galanti who sent it to the back of the net.
Buffalo State conceded just one shot wide the rest of the way. William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) made two saves for his fifth shutout of the season.
Buffalo State finished with a 12-6 edge in shots.

Buffalo State will conclude the SUNYAC regular season next weekend on the road.  The Bengals will visit Oneonta on Friday and New Paltz on Saturday.
