NIAGARA UNIV. — The Purple Eagles play the first match in a two-game home stand on Wednesday when they host Saint Peter’s at 3:00 p.m.

The Purple Eagles were defeated by Monmouth, 5-0, on Saturday in West Long Branch, N.J. Bachmann and Sophie Connor took Niagara’s only two shots of the game. Both shots were saved by the Hawks’ keeper.

The Purple Eagles and the Peacocks last met on Oct. 17, 2015 in Jersey City, N.J. Niagara defeated Saint Peter’s, 3-1. Ortiz had two of the Purple Eagles’ goals, including the game winner. Kelsey Lafferty also scored for Niagara.

Following Saint Peter’s, the Purple Eagles host Fairfield at 1 p.m. Saturday. Niagara will honor its graduating seniors prior to the start of the game.
