OSWEGO — Buffalo State was left continuing to search for its first conference victory of the season, dropping a pair of matches to the host Lakers and later to Potsdam today in SUNYAC play at Oswego.

The Lakers claimed the straight-set win in the morning match, winning 25-13, 25-17 and 25-19.
Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) led Buffalo State with nine kills. Katherine Marte (Ithaca/Ithaca) recorded 18 assists. Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) added five kills, 10 digs and three blocks, and Bryanna Fisher (Brooklyn/Midwood) had five kills and two blocks.

In the second match, Buffalo State started fast in the late match, winning the first set, 25-20.  After pushing the second set to the wrong side of a 30-28 decision, the Bengals dropped the last two sets 21-25 and 13-25. Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) and Hansen led the Bengals with 13 kills apiece.  Chapman added 16 digs. Marte finished with 34 assists. Hanna Cormier (Ft. Edward/Warhill) added a team-high 19 digs.

Buffalo State will visit Nazareth on Tuesday evening for a non-conference match at 7 p.m.
