TOWN OF LOCKPORT — The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that six people were charged with driving while intoxicated between May 27 and May 31 as part of a multi-agency law enforcement blitz for Memorial Day weekend.

Aside from the six DWIs issued in Niagara County during that time, NCSO reports that 10 people were arrested on other charges as a result of traffic stops and 184 traffic tickets were written.

Participating in the blitz were the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Niagara Falls Police Department, North Tonawanda Police Department, New York State Park Police, Middleport Police Department, Lockport Police Department, Lewiston Police Department, Town of Niagara Police Department, Somerset Police Department and Youngstown Police Department.

Future “crackdown” periods are already scheduled in 2016 with all agencies being involved.
