United by Hockey Mobile Museum

The United by Hockey Mobile Museum, which celebrates hockey’s trailblazers, changemakers and business leaders spanning multiple underrepresented and multicultural demographics, will make a tour stop in Buffalo on May 18. 

Fans can visit the museum Thursday from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation Community Center, located at 347 East Ferry Street. 

The traveling museum, which is making stops to all of the 32 NHL markets, celebrates hockey’s trailblazers, changemakers and business leaders spanning multiple underrepresented and multicultural demographics is a unique experience that showcases 840 square feet of history, including exclusive artifacts from players from an array of backgrounds; video components; an interactive broadcast booth; and a look at the next generation of young stars, NHL Officials, broadcasters and women in the game. 

Sabres owner Kim Pegula, forward Jordan Greenway, and alumni Val James (the first Black American player to dress in an NHL game), Tony McKegney (the first Black player to score 40 goals),Grant Fuhr (the first Black player to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame), and Mike Grier (the NHL’s first Black general manager) are among those featured.

The museum also features one-of-a-kind hockey card collections from collectors across North America, highlighting players from underrepresented demographics.

Sabretooth will be in attendance to greet fans from 4 to 5 p.m.
