Orelvis Martinez and Ernie Clement both homered for the Bisons on Sunday, but the ball was flying out of Polar Park for the WooSox too as they defeated the Herd, 13-4. Wilyer Abreu hit three home runs himself and Bobby Dalbec added two more homers to give him 30 on the season as a constant Worcester attack scored seven of the eight times they came to the plate.

Abreu and Dalbec hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning to get Worcester on the board right away. After that, the Red Sox never relinquished the lead.

Buffalo was already trailing 4-0 when they finally dented the score board in the third inning. Spencer Horwitz grounded into force out, and a throwing error by WooSox shortstop David Hamilton allowed Jamie Ritchie to score on the plate. Ernie Clement followed with an RBI-single to score Horwitz to make the score 4-2.

Buffalo scored again in the fourth inning when Orelvis Martinez hit a towering home run to left-center field. The blast was his fourth of the season and traveled an estimated 397 ft with an exit velocity of 103.5 mph.

After another Worcester run, Buffalo’s Clement homered to left to make the score 7-4, but that’s the last runs Buffalo would score. Worcester broke the game open further to make the game 13-4 before the game ended.

Mitch White started the game for Buffalo and gave up three earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched. Paxton Schultz followed White and gave up three earned runs in 3.1 innings. Three Bisons combined to finish the game, allowing 5 earned runs over the final three frames.

The Bisons enjoy an off day on Monday before a six-game series against the Rochester Red Wings at Sahlen Field in Buffalo.
