CLARENCE EVERETTE STRONG, affectionately called “Pumkin,” was born on December 21, 1948 in Jamestown, New York. He was the son of Gertrude Hinson Cunningham and stepfather, Ernest Cunningham.
Clarence received his formal education in the Buffalo Public School system. He graduated from Emerson High School. Clarence loved sports and participated in softball, football, and bowling. In 1997, he was inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. Entering many competitions and tournaments, Clarence bowled for around 25 years. He was an avid fan and season ticket holder of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees.
Clarence working career began at Buffalo General Hospital in 1977 as a nursing attendant. Later, he transferred to medical records. In 2014, he retired from the hospital with 37 years of service.
On the evening of Wednesday, May 10,2023, Clarence departed his journey of life on earth and entered into eternal rest.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memories with his life partner, Linda Dunson; daughters: Sonya ans Dionne Dublin; aunt, Carolyn Doran; nephew, Christopher Ryan; nieces: Ardmease Mitchell (Brice), Tamara Curry (Eduardo) and Bernadeen Bibb (Curtis); and a host of cousins, other loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 12, 2023, 11 AM at Upper Room COGIC, 131 Florida Street, Buffalo, New York 14208. Funeral Services to follow at 12 PM. Entombment Serenity Mausoleum, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
