BUFFALO – Five individuals with outstanding warrants from local jurisdictions and Pennsylvania were arrested and turned over following traffic stops on Wednesday and early Thursday, according to Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard.

First, around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Town of Concord, ECSO Deputy Ballantyne initiated a traffic stop on West Main Street. During the investigation of the driver, Nicholas Gumina, 40, of Blasdell, it was discovered that she had outstanding warrants from the Town of Orchard Park and the Town of West Seneca for larceny charges. Gumina was taken into custody and later turned over to the Orchard Park Police Department.

Then at 9:05 p.m., on Grand Island, ECSO Deputy Day stopped a vehicle operated by 26-year-old Steve Law of Niagara Falls for traffic violations along Whitehaven Road. Deputy Day discovered that Law had an active warrant from the Town of Niagara for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. The Town of Niagara Police Department made arrangements to transfer custody of Law and the vehicle was towed.

Finally, at 1:40 a.m. Thursday ECSO Deputy Bauer initiated a traffic stop on Genesee Road in the Town of Concord for a vehicle equipment violation.  During his investigation, Deputy Bauer discovered that the driver and his two passengers had outstanding warrants from different jurisdictions.

The driver, 39-year-old George Elie of Buffalo, was arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and for an outstanding Buffalo warrant for the same charge; Police say Elie’s license has 10 active suspensions. Patrina Hamilton, 26, also of Buffalo, was arrested for an outstanding warrant for unlicensed operation from the City of Buffalo. And Jessica Ita, 29, of Bradford, Pa., was taken into custody after it was discovered that she had a larceny warrant from Pennsylvania State Police. Ita was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending her extradition. Hamilton and Elie were turned over to Buffalo police.
