Buffalo State quarterback Kyle Hoppy (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) was named the Empire 8 Offensive Football of the Week after leading the Bengals to a 39-21 conference win at Cortland on Saturday.
The junior business administration major threw for 434 yards and accounted for all five Buffalo State touchdowns in the victory. He finished 29 of 47 with three passing touchdowns of 6, 17 and 5 yards, and he also ran for 36 yards with a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Hoppy’s 434 yards through the air was a career high, and was the second most in a game by any quarterback in the Empire 8 this season.
The Bengals (3-2/2-2) will travel to Alfred State for a non-conference contest this Saturday at 1 p.m.
