The Buffalo State women’s soccer team continued its climb up the national rankings, finishing the year at No. 14 in the final regular season National Soccer Coaches (NSCAA) poll released today, the highest mark in program history.
The Bengals (17-1-2) rose four spots after winning the SUNYAC Championship and earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs over the weekend, both firsts in school-history.
Buffalo State also remained third in the east region for the fifth-straight week, trailing just William Smith College (18-0-0) and Stevens Institute of Technology (18-1-1).
William Smith was the No. 1 team in the country for the fifth week in a row, with Trinity University (Texas), Williams College, Thomas More and The College of New Jersey rounding out the top five.
Buffalo State found out yesterday that it will be one of the host sites for the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III women’s soccer championships. The Bengals will face visiting Montclair State this Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
