Buffalo State swimmers Connor Mergler and Alyssa Greymont were named the SUNYAC male and female swimmers of the week today, respectively, after helping the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams to dual meet wins over Pitt-Bradford this past weekend with their record-setting performance.

Mergler set the Kissinger Pool record in the 100 back on the opening leg of the 400 medley relay (53.62) and won the 100 back later in the meet with a time of 54.50 seconds.  He added a win in the 50 free as well, clocking in at 21.28 seconds, the 10th-fastest time in Division III this season.

In only her third collegiate meet, Greymont continued to write herself into the Buffalo State record book.  She bettered her own school and Kissinger Pool record in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:52.55, the 21st-fastest time in Division III.  Greymont also set the Kissinger Pool mark in the 400 IM with a winning time of 4:56.67.

The men’s team defeated Pitts-Bradford 168-122 to improve to 3-0 on the year, while the women’s team won 134.5-58.5 to jump to 2-1.

Buffalo State has the week off before returning to action Nov. 19 with a road-meet at Cortland.
