James P. “Pooch” Puchlerz, passed away on Saturday January 28, 2017, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in North Tonawanda, on June 5, 1947, he was the son of the late Walter P. and Doris R. Marriott Puchlerz. He served in the US Army from 1966-1967. Jim’s life was dedicated to farming, he worked and owned his farm, Puchlerz Farm. He also drove truck for Thiele’s Coal and Feed for over 30 years and for Carmen M. Pariso Trucking for 15 years.
Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marcia (nee Newman) Puchlerz; father of Jamie (Jennifer) Puchlerz and Bridget (Charles) Nugent; grandfather of Wyatt, James, Ian, Emmit, Jessica, Isabel, Janelle and Justin. Jim was the brother of Dennis (Roberta) Puchlerz, Christine (Alan) Hopkins and the late Ronald (Elaine) Puchlerz; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday January 31st, 4-8 PM and Wednesday February 1st, 2-4 PM, where services will immediately follow at 4 PM, in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. In Lieu of flowers memorials to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Niagara Hospice or to the Erie County SPCA, would be appreciated by the family.
