Sophomore Chantal Martinez Blanco went a perfect 4-0 for the Bulls this past weekend winning both of her matches in singles and doubles. On Friday, Martinez Blanco played first singles against Detroit, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. She partnered at first doubles with freshman Anna Savchenko and picked up a 6-2 win. On Saturday, Martinez Blanco played second singles against West Virginia and she again won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. She played second doubles with Savchenko, winning 6-4.

Bryan Lantry went 2-0 on the week, including a win over a nationally-ranked opponent. Against Northern Iowa, Lantry earned a 4-3 decision over #10 Josh Alber. It marked the fourth time this season he has beaten a ranked opponent. On Sunday, Lantry earned a 16-7 major decision over Alijah Jeffery in a 20-17 win at Northern Illinois. It was the Bulls’ fourth MAC dual win of the season, the most by a UB squad since joining the conference in 1998.
