BUFFALO — The Chicago Blackhawks abruptly halted the Buffalo Sabres winning streak at three games, beating the hometown team 5-1 at KeyBank Center.

Evander Kane scored Buffalo’s lone goal with six seconds remaining in the first period. Jack Eichel and Rasmus Ristolainen assisted on the even-strength goal.

Chicago had goals from Ryan Hartman, Marian Hossa, Jonathan Toews, Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane.

The Sabres are off until Saturday when they visit the Colorado Avalanche.
