TOWSON, Md. — Benjamin Ezike (Staten Island/Susan Wagner) won the triple and long jumps in his first action of the season as Buffalo State placed second of 14 teams, including several Division I squads, today at the Towson Invitational.
Ezike won the triple jump with the 14th-best mark in Division III this season at 14.23 meters, and also claimed the long jump with a distance of 6.66 meters. Cody Sikora (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) was third in the 400-meter dash, posting the ninth-best DIII time this season, clocking 48.35 seconds. The 4×100-meter relay of Elijah Lawal (Duanesburg/Duanesburg), Robert Liebel (Tonawanda/Tonawanda), James Willard (Albany/Albany) and Darren Thompson (Buffalo/St. Joe’s) was runner-up with a time of 42.07 seconds. Liebel and Thompson also placed third (22.15) and fourth (22.20) respectively in the 200-meter dash. Liebel was also fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.13 – 10.99 in prelims). Cody Lambert (Kenmore/Kenmore West) was third in the long jump (6.45m), and Robert Alexis (Middletown/Middletown) was third in the triple jump (13.01m).
Mohamed Kouyate (Bronx/Dreamyard Prep) was fourth in the 800-meter run (1:56.53), followed by Phil Giuga (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) in sixth (1:58.07). Chris Duhaney (Hempstead/Uniondale) crossed fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles (15.88) and was eighth in the 400-meter hurdles (58.63). Nick Gray (Williamsville/Williamsville South) was seventh in the 110-meter high hurdles (17.20), and Sachar Williams (Rochester/East) was seventh in the 400-meter hurdles (58.54). Mitch Rabold (Amherst/Sweet Home) was fourth in the 1,500-meter run (4:09.48).
