After carding his career-low score of 72, and earning his first career top-10 finish, Canisius sophomore golfer John Dantonio was named the MAAC Golfer of the Week today (April 19). Dantonio is the second Canisius golfer to earn an award from the MAAC this season, joining teammate David Hanes, who was named the MAAC’s Golfer of the Month in October 2016.
Hanes shot his career-best round of 72 in the second round of the 2017 Battle at The Warren April 15. His two-round score, a career-low 150, tied him for 10th in the field, which included Notre Dame and Detroit-Mercy.
The Golden Griffins will return to action April 21-23 when the team takes part in the 2017 MAAC Golf Championship. The event will be played at Disney’s Magnolia Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
