Buff State women’s cross country opens season with 2nd-place finish at Daniel Walker Invite

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y.— Senior Olivia Ryan (Manlius/Fayetteville-Manlius) led Buffalo State with a fourth-place finish as the Bengals placed second of four complete teams today at the Daniel Walker Invitational today at Beaver Island State Park.

• Ryan ran the 5K course in 21:04, finishing 21 seconds off the pace of the champion of today’s 39-runner field.
• Kassidy Manke (Buffalo/Kenmore West) ran a strong race as well, crossing sixth with a time of 21:23, followed by Clara Sensini (Kingston/Kingston) in eighth in 22:20
• Newcomer Emily Jason (East Aurora/East Aurora) made her Bengals debut placing 12^th in 23:04.
• Gianna Bush (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) was the final Buffalo State scorer in 16^th, clocking 24:17.
